The process is very simple, you are a couple of clicks away from a vastly improved system. Now, if you don't know how to get into BIOS, youtube search it, there are plenty of guides out there, for example Good old Gamer, Hardware Unboxed, Gamers Nexus, etc, etc. I don't know who wold you 2666 ram for Ryzen but that guy doesn't know his stuff. You are probably going to gain anywhere from 10% to 20% more performance. Then go into your Mobo BIOS and toggle an XMP profile apropiate for your memory, which will auto-OC it and greatly improve your CPU's performance. Now, when it comes to your Ryzen CPU you can improve your performance by buying CL14 3200 ram and specially Samsung B-die ram, just ask in your local store if they have some or order it from Amazon, B-die Samsung memory is a bit more expensive (like 20-40 USD) but well worth it. And more recently AMD said in a conference that they could bring multi-chip GPU's if game developers where on board, but they are not. In general, game studios have been holding multithreaded tech back for years now which is why you can still game on a freaking dual core. The engine is old and the programmers at Pdx as in many other game studios, lets be polite, "don't like" coding multiple threads and will fill your screen with excuses for their current situation. On one side my Pc can handle Blender renderings for my hobby animations but can't run a map game because the engine is a huge pile of garbage. I rlly love the game, but it's so goddamn annoying to have a great PC that can't run this map game *because it has to do much Cpu proccessing*. More effectively then this game from 2016. Even games like frkin Half life 1 from 1998 have multicore support and utilize my CPU I can't remember a single game that I've played, (at least in the last 5 years), that had such a bad coding to include multiple cores. How can it be that Paradox as a moderately big studio, uses the Clausewitz engine, that lacks behind years? I can even play CPU heavy games like Total War Warhammer 2 without any problems or FPS drops. The bottleneck is the game not using more then one core. I have 16GB DDR4 2666Mhz and a Samsung Evo SSD, and a GTX 1070Ti Strix. Since the Ryzen 2700X is a 8 Core, 16 Thread Cpu, I looked at all cores, threads and here is what I found out.Īll cores ran at 4,1Ghz. I used Cpu-Z to map all Cpu cores, clocks and what they were up to. Well after I tested the game yesterday, this is exactly what happend. in 1944, leaving me with a frustrating and bareley acceptable playing experience for a MAP GAME. Pls paradox, take some of the money I put into your game and your DLC's aswell as the upcoming one and code the game in a way that my Ryzen 2700X and my gtx1070ti can do more then 16Fps on times 4 acc. Or the overall game speed get's so low that it's a nightmare to enjoy if you want to siege big nations with huge fronts like the UdssR. The game becomes so unbelievably slow that it takes me without joking HOURS to prepare a 970 day naval invasion. The game crashes at some point, somehow killing the Savegame in a way that my troops are not displayed anymore.Ģ. Not because I hadn't enough MP or I got invaded. I never managed to conquer the entire world with Nazi Germany. I really love Hearts of Iron 4 but in the state it is in right now it's pretty much impossible to "end the game". Are there any plans for coding your game in a way that it's not nearly unplayable if you reach 1944 or play with mods? I get that recoding your game to use multiple threads is gonna take some effort but you shouldn't have any problems regarding financial backup with all the DLC's you make.
